All of this started as a modest proposal – how do I better understand market values in fantasy baseball? I’ve largely moved to playing dynasty baseball which has a large emphasis on acquiring talent that can appreciate in value. Understanding FYPD and prospect rankings are a large part of this. So just looking at publicly available or subscription sources was good for a while – until you get into leagues with people who are the professionals or experts (a bit of a humble brag on my part).
What do you do when you play against the ‘perts? Use their list against them? Or try to come up with an overall market valuation? Hence, these compilation rankings.
Sources for this list are either end of season or mid-year updates. Sources include Baseball America, The Athletic, Imaginary Brick Wall, Fangraphs, Prospects Live, Fantrax, Rotowire, and Prospects 1500. I have tried to keep the private/subscription information private, so if you see a mistake or something that should be protected, please let me know.
